John Lewis Building, Leeds Diagrid

Client:
Leeds Diagrid

A new Flagship John Lewis department store with a unique diagrid patterned façade, that echoes Leeds civic buildings with strong three dimensional facades and complements the adjacent historical architecture.

Adey Technical detailed the complex support frame to house the diagrid pattern facade. This involved very intricate and time consuming setting out, checking and overlay to ensure all dimensions where correct. Connections and members were standardised to minimise the complexity of installation. Co-ordination was key and with proper planning achieved the client’s full requirements with minimal onsite issues.
