QMC Stair Tower

Client:
Vinci

Location: Nottingham
Steelwork: Structural Stair Tower, Lift Shafts, Stairs and Balustrades

The Queens Medical Centre Tram station is part of the multi million pound Nottingham Express Transport development and offers staff and patients at the hospital a critical transport link.

Adey Steel helped make this improvement by designing, fabricating and installing the multi-disciplined structure that allows passengers access to and from the raised tram platforms that sit 3 stories above street level.

Works included the lift shaft, support steel (which abuts the new civil works concrete tramway), the staircase itself, stair balustrade, concourse floor and glass screens, concourse balustrade, external walkway, roof steel and secondary cladding support steel.
