Keeping the Midlands Engine Moving Forward

17th October 2017

Considering the impressive progress of bridges being raised along the Midland Mainline as far north as Loughborough, the recent announcement that electrification north of Kettering has been shelved in favour of bi-mode trains seems a false economy considering the infrastructure investments already made.

With the recent award of a £10 million and increasing framework to supply Overhead Line Electrification Structures to Carillion Powerlines on the Bedford > Kettering > Corby section of the Midland Mainline, Adey Steel are investing in its fabrication & welding teams, increasing production output, quality and innovation while reducing lead times.

Being based in the Midlands, Adey Steel are ideally situated to feed any project in the UK. An internal fleet of HIAB and artic drivers with FORS certification celebrating 90 years of experience, ensures the product will be delivered by a team that understands the demanding needs of the rail industry.

Steelwork will be manufactured at our 100,000-square foot manufacturing facility by our OLE team who are responsible for delivering up to 5000 tons of OLE Steelwork into the industry each year. All our OLE Steelwork is manufactured to CE Marking EN 1090-1:2009 and galvanized to BS EN 1461:2009 complying to current standards.
